Bioaugmentation
Bioaugmentation, or the addition of supplemental bacteria, is often used as a reactive response to an upset or to address a myriad of wastewater problems including incomplete BOD reduction and excessive solids carryover due to the loss of biomass. EBS offers a wide variety of effective bacterial formulations, in both dry and liquid forms to meet clients’ specific needs. These formulations are specifically developed for applications in the pulp and paper, chemical processing, refining, and food and beverage industries. Products are both cost-effective and easily applied.

Carbon Sources
A reduction in BOD loading to the WWTP can have adverse effects on the microorganisms. The health of the biomass depends on a consistent source of loading to prevent endogenous decay. The average system loses approximately 3-5% of its biomass per day without adequate BOD.
Nutrients
Maintaining a healthy biomass requires the appropriate blend of macronutrients and micronutrients. The theoretical amount of nitrogen and phosphorus required for new cell synthesis is dependent on the growth conditions of the system. The rule of thumb is to provide an influent ratio of 100:5:1 (BOD:N:P). EBS provides a variety of supplemental nutrient products to enhance system performance efficiency.
Oxygen Supplementation | Sulfide Control
Optimizing biological treatment requires more than just nutrients — it also depends on maintaining sufficient dissolved oxygen levels for efficient microbial metabolism. In systems where oxygen demand exceeds natural supply, supplemental oxygen sources like calcium nitrate and ferric nitrate can enhance aerobic activity, mitigate odor, and support denitrification processes. EBS offers a range of oxygen supplementation solutions to stabilize performance and improve overall treatment efficiency.
