Kellen Lauer is the Laboratory Manager for the Treatability and Client Support Laboratories. She also oversees the in-house production of EBS’s nitrifier bioaugmentation product. Kellen joined EBS in August 2015 with the goal of expanding the company’s capabilities in the area of molecular microbiology. She was responsible for creating EBS’s molecular biology laboratory, which allows EBS to conduct fecal source tracking studies utilizing host-specific DNA markers.
Kellen earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Virginia in 2012. She earned her Master of Science degree in Marine Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2015. Her research focused on fecal source tracking in recreational waters in North Carolina to protect public health.
Outside of the office Kellen currently serves on the board of directors for UVA’s Cavalier Marching Band Alumni Association and enjoys paddleboarding on the lakes and bayous surrounding New Orleans.
