Michael Foster, CET
Principal Consultant

Mike started EBS in 1997 after a thirteen-year career with a major supplier of wastewater treatment chemicals and bioaugmentation cultures. EBS provides training and consulting services, as well as nutrients and biological products to industrial wastewater treatment systems, primarily in the pulp and paper industry. His clients include International Paper Company, Temple-Inland, Georgia-Pacific Corporation, Weyerhaeuser, Domtar, Graphic Packaging, and many more.

Mike has conducted several wastewater seminars for organizations, such as MS Water Environment Association (MWEA), the Arkansas DEQ, the Arkansas Environmental Federation (AEF) and the Technical Association for the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI). He has presented on various nutrient topics for several National Council on Air and Stream Improvement (NCASI) Webinars. Mike authored numerous articles and papers on topics including nutrient optimization, activated sludge process control, bioaugmentation and micronutrient technology. He is the co-author of the manual entitled "Aerated Stabilization Basins in the Pulp and Paper Industry."

Mike received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1980. He is a Certified Environmental Trainer (CET) in wastewater and holds a Class IV Wastewater Operator Licenses in MS, LA and AR. In 2004, he completed a Masters in Instructional Technology at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Mike is a member of the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI), the Water Environment Federation (WEF), the Louisiana and Mississippi Water Environment Associations (LWEA and MWEA) and the National Environmental Trainers Association (NESHTA). EBS is a member of NCASI. In 2005, Mike received the Roy F. Weston Prize for Outstanding Technical Contributions to the TAPPI Environmental Division.

Christine Foster
General Manager

Christine Foster is General Manager of EBS, joining EBS in 2002 as Operations Manager. Christine manages all the business, marketing, and personnel aspects of EBS. This includes meeting client needs for information, insurance issues, office and lab expansions, P&L responsibilities, personnel issues, and more.

Christine began her professional career in 1985 as a Sales Representative in the Formulator Group for Buckman Laboratories of Memphis, TN. In 1987, she joined Nalco Chemical Company as a field sales representative for the Metal Industries Chemicals Group. From there, Christine held various technical support and marketing positions for the North American and European Paper Industry Chemicals Group and the Absorbent Chemicals Group before leaving Nalco in 1998. She has written several papers industry related articles.

Christine earned her B.S. in Biology and a Minor in Management from Purdue University in 1985. In December 2003, she completed an MBA program through the University of New Orleans (UNO). Christine is a member of the 2007 Leadership St. Tammany West Class. Leadership St. Tammany was created in 1993 out of recognition that the future of St. Tammany Parish (County) is tied directly to the quality and voluntary contributions of its leadership. The program was organized to develop future leaders who have a clear understanding of the total community system and are committed to its advancement.

Christine is a Board Member for the New Orleans Chapter of the American Marketing Association, serving in five different positions since 1998 including President. She has been a member of TAPPI and is a member of the West St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the Professional Women of St. Tammany. Christine is also one of the founding board members for the Harvey L. Foster Foundation for Science Education started by EBS in 2007.

Beth Guidotti
Director of Field Services

Beth Guidotti is Director of Field Services for EBS, joining the company in early 2005. Beth manages all field personnel that deal with current and potential clients in all industries other than the CPI/Refining industry. She also performs on-site consulting for the optimization of wastewater treatment systems. Finally, Beth has responsibility for the equipment side of EBS’s business, managing personnel and equipment related projects.

Prior to joining EBS, Beth was a Chemical/Process Engineer for Defense Waste Processing Facility (DWPF), Westinghouse Savannah River Site, subcontractor for the Department of Energy (DOE), in Aiken SC. She worked during construction and startup of this high level radioactive waste disposal facility and served as a technical expert for the process.

Guidotti earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering at North Carolina State University in 1988 and worked as a Co-op student for DuPont at their Fayetteville Works location in NC. Beth is a member of the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI),

J’ohnnie Wilson
Technical Director

J’ohnnie Wilson is the Technical/Safety Director for EBS in Mandeville, LA. J’ohnnie started working with EBS in August 2007 after a twelve-year career in the environmental department of a major paper mill. She has also worked in an analytical lab and for a major supplier of wastewater treatment consulting and bioaugmentation cultures.

J’ohnnie coordinates all activities associated with the EBS labs and the personnel assigned to those areas. She manages the work and manpower associated with EBS’s treatability studies, special laboratory projects, incoming client samples, and she provides training and on-site consulting for the optimization of wastewater treatment systems. J’ohnnie supervises the team that performs and writes reports for comprehensive studies of paper mill performance. These include tracer studies, depth studies, performance profile studies, and river studies. J’ohnnie also provides troubleshooting expertise at papermill sites as well as assisting plant environmental departments with their laboratory testing methodology and lab layout. Additionally, J’ohnnie is responsible for the safety aspect of our business and assists with plant safety audits.

J’ohnnie received a B.S. degree in Microbiology from Louisiana State University in 1992. She also has a background in Chemistry. She is a Certified Wastewater Lab Analyst through the state of Georgia. She is a member of the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI) and also completed a 30-hour training in General Industry Occupational Safety and Health Standards and is a member of the National Safety Council (NSC).

Christopher Agosta
Environmental Engineer

Christopher Agosta joined EBS in 2005 as an Environmental Engineer. Since then, he has traveled to many different paper mills across the southeast to monitor their treatment systems after upsets, assist in river studies, depth and tracer studies, and service different accounts. He also works with several non-paper mill clients. Currently, Christopher is assigned as an on-site Environmental Engineer to Renew Paper in St. Francisville LA (the old Tembec mill). He also covers Georgia Pacific in Crossett AR.

Christopher earned a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge, LA in May 2005. He served in the Louisiana National Guard from 1997 to 2005. He is a U.S. Army Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom and was stationed at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan for eight months where he operated heavy equipment.

Jim Ballard
Environmental Technician

Jim Ballard joined EBS in 2004 as an Environmental Technician. He was contracted to Tembec USA and then Graphic Packaging, West Monroe LA as an environmental technician. He most recently has assisted Renew Paper in starting up their new mill in St. Francisville, LA in the environmental area. Before joining EBS, Jim worked at the International Paper, Natchez, MS paper mill for sixteen years. Jim presently performs laboratory testing in the EBS Mandeville lab and provides backup support to Christopher Agosta at the Renew Paper mill.

At International Paper, Ballard performed work as an environmental technician, relief analyst, and lab operator. He assisted in the research and development of testing a new pulp product and was formally commended for his work.

Marieta Chanco
Environmental Specialist

Marieta Chanco joined EBS in August 2009 as an Environmental Specialist. She will be working with the project group, participating in depth and tracer studies at client sites, further expanding our training materials, collaborating with Patrice Cole in business development and assist in servicing EBS’s local clientele.

Marieta earned her B.S. in Evolution, Behavior and Ecology from UCLA in 2002. She received a CA Single Subject Teaching Credential in Biology from Dominican University in May 2004 and taught Biology, Health and Anatomy, and Physiology to 10-12 grade students at an Albany CA high school for three years. Marieta then received her M.S. in Environmental Engineering and Sciences from Stanford University in 2008. Marieta has conducted a handful of her own research projects. Some recent studies include: Engineering Response to Global Sea Level Rise: Port of New Orleans Case Study, San Gregorio Creek Recreational Water Quality, and CO and PM2.5 Exposure during Commuting in the San Francisco Bay Area. Marieta is fluent in French (written and spoken) and conversational in Spanish.

Marieta has had a colorful employment history, working for three years as a high school science teacher in California and one and a half years as a teaching assistant at Stanford University. She has also worked as a cook for Café Rose Nicaud and the Joint BBQ in New Orleans and managed the kitchen at Café Rose Nicaud for a year. She came to the New Orleans area from California the year after Hurricane Katrina, enjoyed the area but went back to California after a year to pursue her Master’s, and then returned to NOLA upon graduation. She enjoys outdoor activities and cooking.

Patrice Cole
Environmental Consultant

Patrice Cole joined EBS in the fall of 2009 as an Environmental Consultant out of the Mandeville headquarters. Patrice functions in the business development side of EBS and is responsible to develop new markets for our company. That work entails the development of new business for our laboratories, our personnel, or as an additional outlet for our expertise in wastewater treatment. She also has experience in storm water runoff and wetlands delineation as well as the use of constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment and is pursuing these new markets based on her personal expertise.

Among Patrice’s varied environmental jobs, she worked as an Environmental Specialist for Knoxville/Knox County CAC in Knoxville TN where she ensured that all housing construction and rehabilitation services conducted were in environmental compliance. She worked as a Project Manager for a biological survey of the Preserve at English Mountain, which determined the ecological integrity of the Preserve. Patrice also worked for the Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation and as an Environmental Scientist for several other companies. Finally, Patrice has experience teaching and has been an instructor at both the high school and college levels. She was successful in obtaining several grants throughout her career and has published nine articles.

Patrice has Ph.D. in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology from the University of Tennessee (2003), a M.S. in Environmental Planning from the University of Tennessee (1989), and a B.S. in Biology from Southeastern Louisiana University (1975). She is a native of Mandeville LA. She is in training now to be a Certified Stormwater inspector. Additionally, she is taking wetland training and will be certified to conduct wetland delineations by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers wetland delineation methods.

Patrice has been a member of the Association of Southeastern Biologists, Ecological Society of America, International Association of Landscape Ecologists, Southeastern Exotic Pest Plant Council, American Planning Association, and Society for Risk Analysis. Patrice volunteers at a local wildlife preserve to raise public awareness and concern for our natural resources.

Dorothy DeCarli
Senior Wastewater Consultant

Dorothy DeCarli joined EBS in 2004 as a Senior Wastewater Consultant in central Pennsylvania. Dorothy currently has account responsibilities at the American Eagle Paper Mill in Tyrone, PA and Domtar in Johnsonburg, PA.

Dorothy began her professional career servicing chlorine dioxide generation equipment for Rio Linda Chemicals, a division of Vulcan Material Company (VMC). Her career with VMC included pulp and paper chemical sales and service with Vulcan Chemical Technologies and Callaway Chemical Company. Dorothy also spent 5 years at Weyerhaeuser Company (Willamette Industries, Inc.) working as a Process Engineer with direct operating control of the wastewater treatment plant.

Dorothy earned her B.S. in Environmental Science from the Rutgers University in 1995. She currently volunteers as a member of the School Board for Anne Forbes Preschool in Ridgway, PA where she serves as Treasurer.

Donna Drummond
Project Manager, CPI and Refining

Donna Drummond started working with EBS in 2007. She is responsible for growing EBS’s wastewater presence in the chemical processing and refining industries. She presently lives in Sugarland, Texas.

Donna comes to EBS after a fifteen year career as a sales representative and district account manager with Nalco Chemical Company in the Basic Industries Group. She has extensive experience in water and wastewater treatment. Prior to Nalco, Donna worked for Conoco as a plant engineer.

Donna earned her B. S degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1985. Donna belongs to the AIChe (American Institute of Chemical Engineers) and is a life member of Tau Beta Pi, Engineering Honor Society.

Kermit Francis
Wastewater Project Specialist

Kermit Francis joined EBS in April 2008 as a Wastewater Project Specialist. He conducts tracer studies and depth surveys on wastewater treatment systems as well as coordinating the water quality and fish population studies on the Pearl River for two area paper mills.

Prior to joining EBS, Kermit worked in a variety of environmental positions in both the private and public sector. These include stints with Anne Arundel County Department of Health, The Shaw Group, and the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ).

Kermit received a B.S. in Biology from the University of New Orleans (UNO) in 1999. He is a member of the Water Environment Federation (WEF). Kermit also volunteers time with Habitat for Humanity.

Marissa Jimenez
Wastewater Microbiologist

Marissa Jimenez joined EBS as a Wastewater Microbiologist in spring 2008. Her responsibilities include laboratory support and analyses in all areas including microbiology, support of non-local clients for sample analysis, and technical service and support for several local non-paper clients in the Baton Rouge LA area.

Marissa began her professional career in 2001 as a lab technician/microbiologist for Crescent Technology Incorporated (CTI). Central Analytical Laboratories (CAL) separated from CTI in 2003 and from there she worked as a microbiologist/microbiology lab supervisor through its purchase by Eurofins and renaming it to Eurofins Central Analytical Laboratories (ECAL) in 2007. Thus, Marissa worked for CTI/CAL/ECAL from 2001 through February 2008.

Marissa earned her B.S. in Microbiology from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2001.

Jeff LaVoie
Senior Wastewater Consultant

Jeff LaVoie joined EBS in 2004 as a part-time Senior Wastewater Consultant located in Ticonderoga NY. He works with clients located in the Northeast USA and Eastern Canada. Jeff has provided consulting services for clients such as International Paper Company, Temple-Inland, Frasier Paper, Verso Paper, as well as various wastewater treatment systems serviced by Buckman Laboratories in Canada.

Jeff began his professional career in 1979 as a Research Scientist for International Paper at their Sterling Forest Research Facility. From 1983 through 1989, he worked as the Laboratory, Environmental and Industrial Hygiene Manager at IP’s Pine Bluff facility. Jeff worked at Boise Cascade, International Falls for one year before returning to IP as the Quality Control Superintendent at their Natchez Mill. In 1993, Jeff went to IP’s Erling Riis Research Laboratory and then joined the Environmental group at IP’s Technology Center in Loveland OH where he serviced all IP wastewater treatment facilities and implemented the EPA’s Best Management Practices portion of the Cluster Rules. Jeff spent three years at Ticonderoga as a Wastewater Engineer before beginning a teaching career and pursuing a part time career with EBS utilizing his past expertise.

Jeff earned his B.S. in Chemistry from American International College, Springfield MA in May 1979. In January 2006, he completed a MSEd in secondary education from SUNY Plattsburgh, NY. Jeff is primarily a high school chemistry and physics teacher who services local wastewater facilities during school breaks and via the internet.

Josh Maxey
Environmental Specialist

Josh Maxey joined EBS January 1, 2010 as an Environmental Specialist assigned to the Graphic Packaging, West Monroe LA papermill. Josh’s responsibilities at Graphic include data analysis of groundwater samples, daily field inspections, stormwater sampling and analysis, SPCC tank inspections, laboratory data analysis, DMRs and miscellaneous reporting, methanol sampling and hazardous waste pickup. He has mostly independent with some shared job responsibilities with EBS employee Dusty McGehee.

Josh began his career with the Ouachita Parish Mosquito Abatement group. He then worked for University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) in cataloging specimens. Just prior to joining EBS, Josh worked for Eagle Environmental Services as a Lab Technician assigned to the Graphic Packaging, West Monroe, LA papermill.

Josh graduated in 2003 from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in Monroe, LA with a B.S. in Biology. He was involved with the Howard Hughes Biological Research Grant at ULM and was employed by ULM at the Museum of Natural History.

Josh is been through the following schools of training for his job: RCRA Hazardous Waste, DOT, he holds a Class II Wastewater Operator’s License, holds a Class 1 Drinking Water Operator’s License, and has been to Smoke School.

James (Dusty) McGehee
Environmental Specialist

Dusty McGehee joined EBS as an Environmental Specialist in October 2008 located in West Monroe, Louisiana. Dusty is assigned to the EBS client Graphic Packaging in West Monroe where he is the site manager for EBS. His job includes monitoring and maintaining the EBS wastewater treatment system program as well as the primary lab technician for Graphic. Dusty also services the Smurfit Stone mill in Hodge LA for EBS.

Dusty worked for Ballard Forestry and Surveying, LLC in Ruston LA, before joining EBS. He performed all Forestry duties for the company and was also the AutoCAD operator. Dusty graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 2006 with a B.S. in Wildlife Conservation.

Robert McKenzie
Environmental Specialist

Robby McKenzie joined EBS in mid-2008 as an Environmental Specialist located in Fulton, Alabama. His job is to support clients in the Alabama region by monitoring their treatment systems and maintaining effectiveness of biological programs. His clients include International Paper Company in Prattville, International Paper in Pine Hill, Georgia-Pacific Corporation in Brewton, Rock-Tenn Corporation in Demopolis, SCA in Barton, Alabama River Pulp in Perdue Hill, Boise Cascade in Jackson, and others.

Robby is a graduate of the University of West Alabama, graduating in May 2008 with a B.S. in Environmental Science. While in Livingston, he was active in the Blackland Prairie Restoration program under the supervision of Dr. Doug Wymer of UWA.

Robby is a member of the Gulf Coast TAPPI and Alabama WEF. He currently volunteers to judge science projects at local school science fairs and is involved in a variety of charitable activities he is passionate about.

José Ocasio-Rodriguez
Environmental Chemist

José Ocasio-Rodriguez joined EBS in November 2009 as an Environmental Chemist located at our Mandeville LA laboratory. He performs lab analyses of incoming samples from clientele, assists the project team when performing offsite pond studies, assists with client field support where necessary, and works with our client support representatives in the field. José provides field support with some of EBS’s closer clients, provides backup support to Christopher Agosta at the Renew Paper mill, and provides vacation backup support to Dusty McGehee and Josh Maxey at the Graphic Packaging West Monroe LA mill.

José has worked for a variety of pharmaceutical companies since 1996. He began his career as a Laboratory Analyst for SmithKline Beecham (Glaxo SmithKline), Wesley Jessen (CIBA Vision), and Searle Pharmaceuticals all in Puerto Rico. He has worked as a Laboratory Technician for Cutrale Citrus USA and as a QC Scientist for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. Just prior to joining EBS, José worked as a Chemist and Safety Coordinator for ANI Pharmaceuticals in Gulfport MS. He is well versed in a variety of high tech laboratory equipment and techniques as a result of his extensive pharmaceutical laboratory experience. From 2000 to 2006, José pursued studies in Ministry with the Diocese of Orlando Florida.

José received a B.S. of Science in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico in Humacao, Puerto Rico in 1997. He has six years of Seminary School from the Diocese of Orlando. It is important to him to volunteer in the community and he actively seeks areas where he can be of assistance. He is currently helping to raise money for the country of Haiti due to the devastating earthquake that took place in January 2010. José is bilingual with English and Spanish as his languages.

Herman Ohrt
Senior Wastewater Technician

Hermann Ohrt joined EBS as a Senior Consultant in mid-2009 after retiring as Utility Superintendent for Cognis Corporation in Kankakee, IL. Hermann works with the EBS clientele in the Illinois and surrounding areas. He assists clients in monitoring their wastewater treatment facilities, troubleshooting issues, and running pond studies.

Herman began his professional career as a pipefitter and machinery overhaul technician for General Mills Chemical Company (16 years). He then worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for Henkel Corporation (10 years). Finally, Herman worked with Cognis Corporation for 12 years eventually becoming Utility Superintendent before retiring. At Cognis, Herman was responsible for an activated sludge WWT plant, along with overseeing the running of all boilers, the nitrogen plant, firewater systems, all the underground piping (fresh water, fire water sewer) and nine cooling towers. Hermann also has an active K license for this plant. (The K license is the name for Illinois’ industrial wastewater treatment license.)

Hermann attended Kankakee Community College in Illinois taking courses in electronics, refrigeration, welding and small engine overhaul, eventually instructing some of these courses. He has been extensively trained in activated sludge systems by Michael Gerardie from Penn State.

Hermann has been married for 38 years. He has been an Elder and the Secretary of his Church for the past 25 years. He has served on the Grant Park School Board. He presently resides on the Cognis Credit Union Board of Directors (28 years) and for the last 17 years has held the Chairman of the Board position.

Allison Paine
Business Administration Assistant

Allison Paine joined EBS in March 2010. She works on the business side of the company assisting with all internal business action items such as in the accounting area as well as helping fulfill client needs such as safety packets, W-9’s, etc. Allison works at the Mandeville, LA head office for EBS.

Allison received her B.S in Biological Sciences from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS in 1995. Her Major was in Biological Sciences/Environmental Biology and she has a Minor in Chemistry. Allison also has 15 Hours from the Louisiana State University Medical Center School of Nursing in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a true “local,” graduating from Mandeville High School in 1991.

Allison’s most recent work experience includes working as a Research Associate III from 2001 to 2006 for the National Hansens Disease Programs. There she performed a variety of research tasks including cytotoxicity assays, screening of drugs, determination of Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of compounds, determination of Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) of tuberculosis strains, and more. From 1999-2000, Allison worked at Riverside Veterinary Hospital. Prior to that, Allison worked at Louisiana State University Medical Center as a Research Associate from 1997-1999 and with Biosyn Laboratories as a Formulary Chemist from 1995-1997.

Allison currently donates a great deal of time to her children’s elementary school as a member of the Parent’s Club. She co-chaired their fundraiser and performs extensive volunteer work. She was also a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for foster children in Baton Rouge, LA.

Don Potter
Senior Wastewater Technician

Don Potter joined EBS in April 2009. Don will support all EBS applications in Georgia including on-site client support, tracer and depth surveys.

Don retired from the Graphic Packaging, Macon GA mill in 2008. He joined that mill in 1966 known then as Georgia Kraft, then Macon Kraft, then Riverwood, and finally Graphic Packaging. His position was as Wastewater Lab Analyst from 1992 to 2008.

During Don’s career he attended the Georgia Water and Wastewater Institute in 1995. He took the California State University, Sacramento CA Operation of Wastewater Treatment plants Volume 1 and Volume 2 courses in 1995. Don became a Georgia Certified Industrial Wastewater Treatment System Operator in 1995 and a Georgia Certified Industrial Wastewater Laboratory Analyst in 1996.

Robin Schroeder
Environmental Specialist

Robin Schroeder joined EBS in August 2009 as an Environmental Specialist. She will work with Donna Drummond, Project Manager of CP & Refining to develop business within the CPI & Refining industries. Robin will also assist the laboratory team on various projects and provide field support for local clientele.

Robin received a B.S. in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University in 2005 and entered the Geology graduate program at Louisiana State University (LSU) that fall. She will receive an M.S. in Hydrogeology in December 2009 from LSU.

Robin began her professional career in 2007 working as a geotechnical and environmental consultant for URS of Baton Rouge, LA. She worked primarily in oil refineries through 2009. While with URS, Robin worked on numerous RFI Phase I and II projects, wastewater analyses, corrective action projects, and Environmental Site Assessments. She is proficient in all aspects of field work involving environmental sampling, environmental borings, well installations, and water monitoring. Robin received her TWIC security clearance in 2008. She has received 40 hours of HazWoper training (2007-2009), Murphy Site Specific Training (2008), Chevron Site Specific Training (2007-2009), Conoco Phillips Site Specific Training (2008-2009), Loss Prevention Systems training (2007-2009), and One Team Incident Prevention System training (2008-2009).

Robin enjoys volunteering at local schools to do guest lectures on the physical and biological sciences and also enjoys teaching sailing to young children.

Kenny Smith
Production and Maintenance Coordinator

Kenny Smith joined EBS in March 2004. His responsibilities include the development, construction and installation of all EBS patented Bacterial Acceleration Chambers (BAC Units) as well as the routine maintenance on all BAC Units and nutrient pumps. Prior to moving in-house to the Mandeville LA offices, Kenny worked as an EBS employee assigned to maintain wastewater compliance during the plant closure and demolition of the International Paper Company in Natchez, Mississippi.

Before joining EBS, Kenny worked for 25 years at International Paper Company in Natchez, Mississippi. He worked as a power plant operator, control room operator, and a waste water treatment operator.

For those old enough to remember this TV show, EBS considers Kenny our “McGyver.” If he doesn’t know how to fix it, make it, or build it, he will figure it out.

Marie Tranchina
Marketing Specialist

Marie Tranchina is the Marketing Specialist for EBS located in our Mandeville, LA lab, training center and office location. She joined EBS in March 2007 in a laboratory technician capacity performing client support and research . Then she moved over to the business side of EBS in December 2008 to assist Christine Foster. Marie coordinates the EBS semi-annual Wastewater Training Seminar held in Mandeville, assists with in-house client support activities such as insurance and safety form compliance, manages the EBS contact management program, and performs general marketing.

Marie has a B.S. in Ecology, Evolutionary, and Environmental Biology from Southeastern Louisiana University (SELU). She also volunteers with the American Marketing Association, New Orleans Chapter.

Angela Glaze
College Intern

Angela Glaze joined EBS during the summer of 2009 as a recent graduate of Fontainebleau High School in Mandeville LA. She worked during the summer and Christmas break in 2009. Angela assists EBS in all areas where help is needed but she primarily works with Christine Foster and Marie Tranchina on the business side of EBS. Angela assists with work associated with the foundation started by Mike and Christine Foster called The Harvey L. Foster Foundation for Science Education. She also helps create video of microscopic organisms that will be placed on the EBS website as well as used for training purposes.

Angela is currently a freshman at Louisiana State University (LSU) majoring in Public Relations. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and is the Music Chair within her sorority. Angela enjoys singing and was a member of one of her high school singing groups.

Ethan Rault
Summer Intern

Ethan Rault joined EBS during the summer of 2010. Ethan is a 2008 graduate of Fontainebleau High School in Mandeville LA, graduating as one of four Valedictorians. Ethan works with Kermit Francis on tracer & depth studies and is learning laboratory test and microbiological identification. Ethan is currently a Junior at Louisiana State University (LSU) majoring in Biology and is planning to attend medical school. Ethan enjoys sports such as Tennis and Baseball.

Graham Smart
Summer Intern

Graham Smart joined EBS during the summer of 2010. Graham is a 2009 graduate of St Paul’s High School in Covington LA Graduating in the top 10% of his class. Graham works with Marieta Chanco in the development of our online training program. Graham works specifically with videography and the implementation of videos within the online training system. Graham is currently a sophomore at Rhodes Collage in Memphis, TN majoring in English Literature and Studio Art. He is the student head of the art movie group for the Art Department at Rhodes College; he also enjoys playing guitar, bass and saxophone in his spare time.

Mandeville High School Senior Internship Program Interns

EBS started participating in the Mandeville High School Senior Internship Program during the 2008-2009 school year. Seniors in this program perform 6 hours per week of internship hours with local companies in areas of their interest throughout their senior year. EBS mentors students interested in any form of science.

During our second year with the program, Miss Della Hebert joined EBS in August 2009. Mr. Jonathan Lambert and Mr. Nick Croy joined EBS in January 2010. EBS teaches these individuals the how, what, when, and why of the various laboratory tests we perform, correct laboratory methodology, how to perform microbiological assessments and what to look for, and how to think through the writing of our client service reports. During this time they are monitored by our laboratory experts.

EBS’ goal is to expose interns to various areas where they may apply their interest in science and to help them develop critical thinking skills useful in school and careers. It is one way EBS is gives back to the community.
